HEIC to JPG converter

A free HEIC to JPG converter that also writes PNG and WebP, entirely in your browser. Every photo your iPhone takes is a HEIC, and almost nothing outside Apple's world will open one. Convert them to a format that works everywhere — right here, without the photos leaving your device.

JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white. Converted files don’t keep EXIF or color profile data.

Runs in your browser. Your files never leave your device.

How to convert a HEIC

  1. Add your HEIC filesDrag them in or pick them from disk — .heic and .heif are both accepted. Photos AirDropped or copied off an iPhone arrive in this format even when Photos displays them as ordinary pictures.
  2. Choose an output formatJPG is preselected because it is the format everything opens, and it is what your iPhone would have shot in the first place. Pick PNG instead if you want a lossless copy to edit, or WebP for the smallest file at similar quality.
  3. Convert and downloadThe HEIC decoder loads the first time you convert one, so the first photo takes a few seconds longer than the rest — after that the whole batch runs at full speed and comes back as a single ZIP.

Questions about converting HEIC

Because HEIC stores its image with HEVC, the same patent-encumbered codec as H.265 video, which Apple licensed and made the iPhone default in iOS 11 while almost nobody else did. Windows still sends you to the Store for a codec extension to view one, many Android builds cannot open them at all, and a great many upload forms reject the extension outright. Converting to JPG sidesteps every one of those.

One file is free. Four hundred, on brand, in every size, is what we do.
