NEF to JPG converter
A free NEF to JPG converter that also writes PNG and WebP, entirely in your browser. A Nikon NEF holds everything the sensor recorded, which is why nothing but photo software will open one. This pulls out the full-resolution JPEG your camera already wrote inside the file and converts that — in your browser, with the NEF never leaving your machine.
Pick the formats first, or keep the defaults. You can change the output at any time.
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white. Converted files don’t keep EXIF or color profile data.
Runs in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
How to convert a NEF
- Add your NEF filesDrag them in or pick them from disk. These are large files, so a batch of them takes a moment to read — nothing is uploaded while that happens.
- Choose an output formatJPG is preselected because getting a shareable photo out of a NEF is the usual reason to be here. PNG gives a lossless copy of the extracted image, WebP the smallest file.
- Convert and downloadThe embedded full-size JPEG is lifted out of each NEF and re-encoded to your chosen format. One file downloads on its own; a batch comes back as a ZIP.
